Photoshoot

Being camera shy since like forever I decided to take on the reins and do something about it. This year I plan on making lots of new positive changes in my life. One of them was to overcome my shyness (with the camera!) and so I decided to go for a casting at a modelling agency. I am happy (and extremely surprised) that I got the job.

Here are some photos from my photoshoot.

this last picture means a huge deal for me and I cannot believe I am posting this up for all to see. I was diagnosed with Alopecia Universalis since I was a baby and have never had the pleasure of having a full head of hair. All my life I've had low self esteem because of it although I think I hide it pretty well because everyone seems to think I am really confident (it's all a lie, I act this way because I hate being pitied) but now at the ripe old age of 30 something I decided it's time to face my fears and show my true self. When I mentioned to the modelling agency that I have alopecia they were excited because it meant I had a unique look.

So now the secret is out, my hair is only a wig which I only started wearing properly a few months ago. All this while I would only wear a scarf because wearing a wig felt too weird for me. But I love it now! I wish I could afford to buy more. It's so much fun!

Wow, I still cannot believe I am doing this but like I said it's time to face my fears and I would like the public to be more aware of Alopecia.

If you know anyone with this condition and need someone to talk to please do not hesitate to contact me. I would love to help. You can find my email on the sidebar.

Thanks for listening xxx

  8. Wow, firstly I love the first image and secondly you're so brave! I feel happy that you're starting to feel more comfortable with yourself that's brilliant!

As for the Charity shop issue I'm honestly surprised that Manchester don't seem to have many good ones as I thought it was quite good there for fashion and vintage etc...I don;t even remember why I thought this. But I think the best way to find vintage or good pieces second hand is to shop around in the charity shops of rich areas!!

  10. I think this is my favourite post from you! Showing who you really are is something beautiful and I truly respect that. Especially in the blogosfera where everybody seem to want to picture the perfect life, look, status. Ever since I've visited your blog I thought you were beautiful and this hasn't change at all. xx

Having spoken to you also helped me bare my soul ever so slightly, and was asked to write a short article, in which you are featured.
