I've realised that I haven't been blogging about illustration for a while. The excitement of working with Fashnpolis and London Fashion Week has distracted me from 

focusing on my first love, which is of course art. But then again fashion is a form of art no?

I stumbled upon Lauren Nassef on a friend's facebook page and it got me excited about drawing again. I love fashion illustration but recently although they are fantastic illustrations they didn't excite me as much. The styles are all quite similar to each other and after seeing one, you feel like you've seen them all.

how absolutely true.

For the past few days or so I have been focusing on my illustrations. My main interest is fashion illustration but I find it quite difficult sometimes. Hair is an absolute horror to draw not to mention the clothes. Eeeep!

If you take a look at my portfolio, my current drawings are much better and very different now. I hope to perfect them before putting them up. My past illustrations are weak and very amateurish. 

I am my biggest critic. 

I have met so many other artists recently who tell me that they are never truly happy with their work. They always feel they can do better. That makes me feel so much better knowing that I am not alone in this.

My question to you is what is your passion?

An illustration I did of a friend of mine. 

It was a rough sketch I did  last spring. At the time I was inspired by other illustrators who used pen as their medium and now I am completely hooked!

It's cold, grey and foggy here in England. It's making me miserable.

Charmaine Olivia is my new girl crush. She is a beautiful talented young lady whom I have just discovered recently. When I first came across her work I fell madly in love and have been a stalker follower since.

Here are a few of my favourites. I could paste ALL of her work because that's just how much I love them but I don't think it would be very wise.

Back for good!

So I haven't been blogging for a while. Almost a year to be exact. Why? Well there are a few good reasons..I swear; One of the main ones is laziness. Yes you heard me right, plain old laziness.

I am very sorry.

I promise to be good this time. I have been meaning to blog but alot has happened over the past year which is absolutely silly for me NOT to blog but you know when you are busy, like really busy you just can't be arsed forget.

So basically this is the story: I have been a full time student for the past year, studying Art & Design and then specialising in Illustration which is amazing for me because I did not think I could draw. But apparently I could and now I can't stop. No, that is a lie. I stopped for a few months and now I am planning on getting back on it again.

There is so much for me to tell, about a year's worth of life stories but this will have to wait.

In the meantime here's one of my first illustration I did in class. Tell me what you think :)
