Unfortunately I don't normally take pictures when I am out, which is why I only have a few to show. Summer has been, well, not very summery lately. It was nice and hot for a week and now it has fast forwarded to autumn I feel. I hope it gets better soon cos I am getting pretty depressed! Come on sun!

70s shoot
Last couple of weeks I had the pleasure of working with Scott Harrison-Jones and his talented production arts team. It was a 70s shoot and a 1920s shoot.
I had so much fun wearing a long wig (never done that before), it was pretty heavy and big! I had to wear a scarf underneath just to make it fit, and the hat helped a bit with making it stay put.
I felt like Yoko Ono, but Stuart's dad said I looked like Kate Bush which is even better cos I love her. I haven't received the other images from the 1920s shoot yet but when I do I will be sure to share them :)
Hope everyone had a good easter and not feeling too ill from consuming too much chocolate!

Happy Easter!
Kate Upton for LOVE Magazine
If you are like me (someone who has no sense of discipline at all when it comes to chocolate), well, I am sure you must be regretting eating your chocolate eggs early this year. This is what simply happened to me. Stuart and I got our easter eggs quite early this year from his mum. So obviously I ate them, two weeks earlier than I should have had.
Am I kicking myself for it now? Yes.
Am I tempted to run out to the store and get myself one? Yes.
Will I do it? We shall see...if I can myself out of my PJs.
Enjoy Easter everyone! <3

busy busy busy
It has been a while since I last blogged. It has been such a busy week for me. A few modeling opportunities have turned up and I have been doing a few photoshoots for the past few days and more to come in the week as well. I thought I'd share some of them here to show that I have been productive and not been ignoring my blog intentionally.
Tomorrow will be a big day as I will be heading of to london for a casting. Very excited because if I get this it will mean good money. I hope this will boost up my career as a model and I won't have to carry on with my unglamorous side job (wishful thinking).
So fingers crossed! Wish me luck because I need it desperately!
I will be back soon to visit your blogs :)

Max Tan
Featuring Max Tan's newest collection Fall/Winter 2012/2013 in a short fashion film inspired by a Japanese folklore called " The Crane Wife"
Crane Wife from strangexperiments on Vimeo.
I love lookbooks, I think I spent far too much time watching them online. This one caught my eye because of its quirkiness and also because it's inspired by a Japanese folklore. It's the best one I have seen yet. What do you think?
You can read about Max Tan and see more of the Singapore-based designer here.
It's the weekend and unlike most people I will be at work instead spending it infront of the TV or going to the park. Boo!
Enjoy the weekend and for those of you who are in the UK, enjoy the sunny weather while it lasts!

Illustrator: Lauren Nassef
I've realised that I haven't been blogging about illustration for a while. The excitement of working with Fashnpolis and London Fashion Week has distracted me from
focusing on my first love, which is of course art. But then again fashion is a form of art no?
I stumbled upon Lauren Nassef on a friend's facebook page and it got me excited about drawing again. I love fashion illustration but recently although they are fantastic illustrations they didn't excite me as much. The styles are all quite similar to each other and after seeing one, you feel like you've seen them all.
Here are some of her work.
I love the one of Tavi and the yearbook one the most. Which ones do you like?

Marni for H&M
This editorial was taken at the iconic Pam Am building in Berlin. As a lover of the TV series I was thrilled when I saw this. The collection suited the set up perfectly - the muted colours, prints and colour blocking very much suited the 60s theme. The last image also reminded me of Donald Draper from Mad Men although I don't think I have seen Mr Draper in a stripey sweater.
Mad Men and Pan Am? What's not to love? Of course the collection itself is also incredibly beautiful.

Mags galore
I am a sucker for magazines. There's just something about them; the smell, the bright colours, the picture on the cover that never cease to grab my attention when I walk pass. I know we're not supposed to judge a book by its cover but with magazines how else would you pick them? These ones that are shown here are a bit pricey than the norm and like Pop and Love, they only come every season which makes it even more special.
I always look forward to them. As soon as I see them on the rack my heart flutters and my palms start to sweat. Yes, they excite me that much. Their editorials are always visually mesmerising and never fail to inspire me.
Where do you turn to for inspiration?
Before I go I'd like to thank all of you who had left such sweet comments on my last post. I really appreciate you coming here and taking the time to comment. Thank you! Hope everyone is having a lovely day!

Photoshoot
Being camera shy since like forever I decided to take on the reins and do something about it. This year I plan on making lots of new positive changes in my life. One of them was to overcome my shyness (with the camera!) and so I decided to go for a casting at a modelling agency. I am happy (and extremely surprised) that I got the job.
Here are some photos from my photoshoot.
Here are some photos from my photoshoot.
this last picture means a huge deal for me and I cannot believe I am posting this up for all to see. I was diagnosed with Alopecia Universalis since I was a baby and have never had the pleasure of having a full head of hair. All my life I've had low self esteem because of it although I think I hide it pretty well because everyone seems to think I am really confident (it's all a lie, I act this way because I hate being pitied) but now at the ripe old age of 30 something I decided it's time to face my fears and show my true self. When I mentioned to the modelling agency that I have alopecia they were excited because it meant I had a unique look.
So now the secret is out, my hair is only a wig which I only started wearing properly a few months ago. All this while I would only wear a scarf because wearing a wig felt too weird for me. But I love it now! I wish I could afford to buy more. It's so much fun!
Wow, I still cannot believe I am doing this but like I said it's time to face my fears and I would like the public to be more aware of Alopecia.
If you know anyone with this condition and need someone to talk to please do not hesitate to contact me. I would love to help. You can find my email on the sidebar.
Thanks for listening xxx

Six Eight Kafe's First Birthday Party
I mentioned before about this event. When I got there it was so packed! We were given complimentary champagne when we first arrive and free lattes throughout the night. I was told the coffee cocktails were delicious. I am not a fan of coffee cocktails so I had to take their word for it.
All in all the night was really lovely. Great entertainment, amazing people and delicious coffee (for free!). It was a friday night well spent.
(you can see me enjoying a good conversation with my friend Alex in the video)

Mary Katrantzou's launch
My favourite is her bowl dress
and this picture of Susie from Susie Bubble makes me love it even more.
I do love the idea of wearing it with a simple grey tshirt underneath. And those shoes suit her perfectly! It kinda reminds me of an old man's moustache but she does wear it well.
Which are your favourites from her collection?

It's the day of love!
one
My cousin, Yani trying her first ever Red Velvet Cake. Can you believe she was a Red Velvet virgin before she met me? Of course I had to drag her to Hummingbird's straight after I found out!
two
Maya is a photographer whom I met during my photoshoot. We hit it off from the start and I can see us being friends for a long long time. She is not only a talented photographer, she is also an artist, a model and a singer! You can check out her work here.
three
I treated myself to Hummingbird's Valentine Red Velvet cupcake.
four
A box of chocolates to share with my Stuart.
I am looking forward to my dinner this evening. Since last year we started a new tradition of just enjoying a night in on Valentine's Day. We decided it was much nicer and more intimate which is the main purpose to it don't you agree?
Happy Valentine's Day my lovelies!

PCMag Feature
FashnPolis
Bloggers showing off their own street style walk the Web runway every day, serving as fashion inspiration and indirectly spurring sales. FashnPolis helps them generate revenue by letting them tag items in their photos and link them to online stores for a commission. The Portugal-based site had a round of financing of an unspecified amount from SeedCapital.
Next: Sumally
Fashnpolis has been featured on PCmag and we are beyond thrilled! You can read more about it here. It's all very exciting and I am happy to see that it's getting itself out there.
Speaking of Fashnpolis, have you signed up yet?
Hope no one is suffering from the Monday blues :)
xx
